Logo Design
K-Pop Hour
K-Pop Hour is a student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee that hosts K-Pop dance workshops and events.
During my time as an officer of the organization, I re-designed the club’s logo, which was originally designed in 2019.
Completed 2021
Program: Adobe Illustrator
From 2019-2020, K-Pop Hour was known as Korean Hour, which was a weekly workshop that combined lessons on Korean culture with K-Pop dances.
After we were able to return to campus, officers of the organization decided to re-brand the club as K-Pop Hour and focused only on hosting dance-based events/workshops.
The original Korean Hour logo & icon included elements of the Korean flag and language, as well as a clock to represent the ‘hour’ in its name.
01. Starting Point
02. Creating Options
In collaboration with other K-Pop Hour officers, I came up with a few rough drafts of a new logo for the club.
Ideas for the new logo from my team were as follows:
Blue color scheme
Inclusion of a clock
Inclusion of a moon - if possible
Interesting font & typography, like the original Korean Hour logo
After receiving feedback, we decided on this version of the logo.
I made some final adjustments to the color scheme to include all of the shades of blue we originally wanted, as well as to differentiate between the icon (for our social media) and logo (for advertising).
